The Hudson Valley Libertarian Party, formed in the mid 1990s, was the group coalescing Libertarians in Dutchess, Ulster, Orange and Putnam counties. It still meets on the first Tuesday of every month in New Paltz, serving now as an informal forum for its constituent counties. The Dutchess County Libertarian Party was the first county affiliate to splinter off from the Hudson Valley LP.
